History

The i3 Foundation was established in 2023 by Professors Jan Potempa, Krzysztof Pyrć, and Piotr Mydel of the Jagiellonian University. United by a shared vision and passion for science, they combined their strengths and skills to create an organization dedicated to advancing research in Inflammation, Immunity, and Infectious diseases—the pillars represented by “i3”.

The mission of the i3 Foundation is to promote interdisciplinary scientific collaboration and innovation that will contribute to solving some of the most pressing health challenges of our time. By leveraging the founders’ collective expertise in various fields of biomedical science, the foundation aims to bridge fundamental research with practical clinical applications. Through inspiring and supporting the next generation of scientists, the i3 Foundation strives to make a significant impact on global health.
